Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Play Every Season (playeveryseason.com) collects, how it is used, and how it is shared. Play Every Season is a community advocacy site supporting Article 12 and the proposed renovation of Vito Capizzo Stadium at Nantucket Public Schools. It is not affiliated with the Town of Nantucket or Nantucket Public Schools as a municipal entity.
What we collect
Play Every Season is a static informational website. We do not require accounts, and we do not use advertising tracking pixels.
If you choose to reach out to us via Instagram direct message using the contact details on the site, you provide whatever information you include in your message (typically your Instagram handle and the content of your message). We do not collect this information unless you voluntarily send it. If you do not contact us, we do not collect any personal information from your visit beyond standard web server logs and aggregate analytics (see below).
Analytics
We use PostHog (hosted at us.i.posthog.com) to understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and where traffic comes from — so that we can improve the page. PostHog collects standard analytics data including your IP address, browser user agent, referring page, the pages you view, and events such as clicks. PostHog may set cookies or use browser storage to recognize repeat visits. PostHog is operated by PostHog, Inc. and processes data on our behalf under its own Privacy Policy.
We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks. If you would prefer not to be included in analytics, you can enable your browser's “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, use an ad/tracker blocker, or visit the site in a private window.
Standard server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard web server logs when someone visits the site. These logs may include your IP address, browser user agent, referring page, and the time of your visit. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring and are retained according to Vercel's data retention policies. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us operate the site, and only to the extent necessary for that purpose:
- Vercel — web hosting and standard server logs.
- PostHog, Inc. — aggregate site analytics.
Messages you send to us via email or Instagram are received and read by the Play Every Season team. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any party unrelated to responding to your message. If you ask a question that requires input from Nantucket Public Schools or another partner organization to answer, we may forward your question — but we will not forward your personal contact information without your consent.
How long we keep it
Messages you send us are retained for as long as they remain relevant to an active conversation or to ongoing community outreach around Article 12. Once a conversation is closed, we periodically delete older messages. Analytics data is retained according to PostHog's retention defaults. You can request earlier deletion of anything you sent us at any time (see “Your choices” below).
Cookies
Play Every Season does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics provider (PostHog) may set a small number of cookies or use browser storage to recognize repeat visits and measure aggregate site usage — see the Analytics section above. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may also set minimal cookies for essential functionality and anti-abuse protection. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies on this site.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, please reach out via Instagram DM at @playeveryseason and we will delete any information we hold.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Confirm whether we hold any personal information about you
- Delete any message you sent us
- Correct any information you submitted
- Opt out of any further communication
To make any of these requests, send us a direct message on Instagram at @playeveryseason with the note Privacy Request. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the way we operate the site or changes in applicable law. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review the policy periodically.
